Buddy Class

Buddy class...
When we spent time with our buddy class we looked at a Koru design then cut it up into squares. We got given blank white squares as well and we attempted to copy the design onto the blank square. After that a group of kids stayed and tried to remake the design using the squares that we had put pastel on! We had a great time with our buddies. The activity was challenging because we had to try and get the right shapes and swerves and the right colours. We found that when we pieced our hand drawn pastel squares together that it was colourful but not the right shape or context. In buddy class we also did pop art cards with rabbits for Easter. Every body liked that activity because we got Easter eggs.

This is what we tried to make...

Novel study

Novel study

Basically every day we do reading in our class. We have four reading groups that we learn in. The first and fourth group does novel study for there task. Novel study is when you read a chapter book and then sometime in the week they get together to reflect on what they have read. They do this every week to help with there reading. The other groups just read journals and they practice different types of strategies.

How to Create a Post on our Class Blog

Fulton Hogan

This term all students in Room 18 worked really hard at creating their own 3D model home. Students were given a brief and from there had to create a 2D plan before making their plan come to life in 3D scaled model. To top it off we even had a special guest from Fulton Hogan come in to check out our designs and give us some really helpful feedback.
